The Fi’zi:k Aliante R1 Carbon Braided Saddle is light, flexible and agile, enabling you to perform at your best. Fi'zi:k launched the first Aliante in 1999. During the intervening years, it has become one of the most loved and favoured saddles in the world, by both pros and enthusiasts alike. The Aliante is one of Fi'zi:k's three Spine Concept men’s road saddle shapes. Of these three, the Aliante shape is the widest and most longitudinally waved. If you have a relatively low degree of spinal flexibility (more than 90 degrees between your straight legs and back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight and shoulders width apart), according to the concept you are a Bull. Your degree of spinal flexibility will top out quite quickly when attempting to adopt the performance position. For this reason, you will rotate your pelvis fully so you will benefit from the increased curvature and support of the Aliante shape. The saddle features a composite carbon co-injected nylon shell for support and an optimized stiffness to-weight construction – with Twin Flex technology which combines a strong, stiff layer with a flexible, comfortable layer. Rather than a conventional solid or tubular rail, this model features an outer sleeve of braided carbon fibres forming a tube, with the void inside being filled by unidirectional carbon fibres. This construction is strong, light and stiff. The saddle is available in two widths to provide the perfect fit for more riders.
